Aviation people who happened to remove the pilot's seat
Causey Aviation Unmanned is the drone division of a family aviation operation that has flown from Liberty, North Carolina for generations. We didn't come to aviation through drones — we came to drones through aviation.
Our story
From manned charter to unmanned scale
Long before packages flew themselves, the Causey family ran professional flight operations — charter aircraft, a working airfield, and the safety culture that comes from decades in time-critical aviation. When unmanned aircraft became commercially viable, we saw what the industry was missing: not better technology, but experienced operators who understood airspace, risk, and regulation.
Causey Aviation Unmanned was created to close that gap. In January 2023 the FAA granted us a standard Part 135 air carrier certificate — making us one of the first five companies in American history certified to operate drone delivery at scale. Since then we've flown more than 250,000 commercial deliveries with our partner Flytrex and built FAA-integrated healthcare logistics programs through the BEYOND initiative.
